A vision. Rihanna shouldn’t have left short hair.

downbeatlove asked us:
So I want to cut my hair. I’ve chopped it all off once before and I loved it. It’s been about 3.5 years and I think I’m ready to do it again. I want something more edgy than the chin length bob I got last time but my hair is curly. I’m afraid that if I do something asymmetrical/too funky I will have to keep my hair straight all the time.
Any advice?
Our first question! Eeeeh!
Okay well if you check our tag short-haired-women-of-color.tumblr.com/tagged/curly+hair you’ll see a few cuts we’ve featured so far that are amazing, curly and simply effortless! Just a little bit of product, and even if you did want to straighten it, it’d still look great. Although having straight hair myself, I wish my hair was curly so I could give my short length some extra pizazz. So quite envious of you!
My favorite curly hairstyle right now is below. Nice and trim on the sides, but volumnious up top! It looks great on her and I bet it would look amazing on you.

I do like these ladies as well. Their cuts wouldn’t be half as great without the curls.

It’s just a matter of working with your hairstylist (go to one you trust or a friend highly recommends) and letting him or her cut it the best possible way with your texture. There’s so many things you can do! We hope this was informative enough, don’t hesitate to ask more.
And if you do make the cut, SHOW US!!!!!!!
Thanks again for the question. xx
